Connect Zoho Books to Hypamoon
Yes, with one catch. Zoho Books has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today.
OpenThe check
Three questions about the API of Zoho Books, answered from its own docs.
- Public API docs
- Yes. Read the docs
- A key you create yourself
- Yes. Register a client in the Zoho developer console; a self client for backend use gives a grant code without a redirect page. zoho.com
- Versions or a changelog
- Yes. Versioned path (/books/v3). zoho.com
- How it signs in
- OAuth 2.0 through the Zoho developer console; access tokens last one hour and the refresh token stays valid until it is revoked.
- Webhooks
- Yes. It can tell your app when something changes. zoho.com
- Hosting
- Cloud
In practice
What it takes in a real Zoho Books administration.
- Getting access
- Create a self client in the Zoho developer console, generate a grant code with the Zoho Books scopes, and exchange it once for a refresh token.
- Limits
- 100 calls per minute per organization; per day 1,000 (Free), 2,000 (Standard), 5,000 (Professional) and 10,000 (Premium and up); 5 or 10 concurrent calls. zoho.com
- Writing
- Read and write. The API covers the same operations as the web app, such as creating and updating contacts, invoices, bills, payments and journals.
- Cost
- Not published.
What you can build
Create invoices, estimates and contacts from your chat or a web form, and check unpaid invoices per customer.
Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work
Good to know
- Zoho Books signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for Zoho Books takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
- Daily call limits depend on your plan, from 1,000 on Free to 10,000 on the top plans. Use the API domain of your data center (.com, .eu, .in and so on). Webhooks are sent by workflow rules you set up in Books.
Try it in your chat
Fill in what to read and write, and send it.
Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Zoho Books. API docs: https://www.zoho.com/books/api/v3/introduction/. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].
In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.
The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.
Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.
Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
Ready to connect Zoho Books?
Connect your chat once, then ask it to build the adapter.
