Connect Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Hypamoon
Yes. Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a public, versioned API and you create the key yourself, so your chat can write the adapter.
OpenThe check
Three questions about the API of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, answered from its own docs.
- Public API docs
- Yes. Read the docs
- A key you create yourself
- Yes. An administrator publishes pages, codeunits or queries as web services and creates a web service access key on the user card. learn.microsoft.com
- Versions or a changelog
- Yes. Fixed product versions; NAV 2018 extended support runs until January 2028. learn.microsoft.com
- How it signs in
- User name with password or web service access key (NavUserPassword), or Windows sign in, depending on how your server is set up.
- Webhooks
- Not confirmed.
- Hosting
- Self-hosted
In practice
What it takes in a real Microsoft Dynamics NAV administration.
- Getting access
- Your NAV partner or IT administrator publishes the needed pages and codeunits on the Web Services page, creates a user for the integration with a web service access key, and opens the OData or SOAP port over HTTPS.
- Limits
- None published.
- Writing
- Read and write. Create and update records through the pages you publish as web services; only what is published can be reached.
- Cost
- Not published.
What you can build
A web order form that writes sales orders into your own NAV server, so the office stops retyping them, and a chat lookup of customer balances.
Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work
Good to know
- Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
- NAV runs on your own server. The OData and SOAP ports (OData 7048 by default) must be reachable from the internet over HTTPS, and only the pages and codeunits you publish as web services are available. What exists depends on your NAV version.
- NAV is no longer developed; Microsoft's successor is Business Central.
Try it in your chat
Fill in what to read and write, and send it.
Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV. API docs: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/dynamicsnav-2018-developer/Web-Services. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].
In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.
The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.
Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.
Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
Ready to connect Microsoft Dynamics NAV?
Connect your chat once, then ask it to build the adapter.
