Connect Odoo to Hypamoon

The check

Three questions about the API of Odoo, answered from its own docs.

Public API docs
Yes. Read the docs
A key you create yourself

In practice

What it takes in a real Odoo administration.

Getting access
Each user creates an API key under Preferences, Account Security in Odoo, with an end date of at most three months; the integration acts with that user's access rights.
Limits
None published.
Writing
Read and write. Create and update records in any model the user may change, such as contacts, sales orders, invoices and stock moves.
Cost
On Odoo Online and Odoo.sh the external API is only available on the Custom plan, not on One App Free or Standard. odoo.com

What you can build

A booking or intake form that creates the contact and the quotation in Odoo, and a chat view of stock and open orders for a customer.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
  • For a self-hosted Odoo, your installation must be reachable from the internet over HTTPS. The JSON-2 API needs Odoo 19 or later; older versions only have XML-RPC and JSON-RPC, and what you can reach depends on your installed modules.
  • XML-RPC and JSON-RPC will be removed in Odoo 22 (fall 2028), and on Odoo Online in 21.1. Webhooks are sent from automation rules.

Odoo is a name of its owner, used here only to describe the software. This page is not an official integration and Hypamoon has no partnership with Odoo. Found something that changed? Tell us at support.

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
