Connect SAP S/4HANA to Hypamoon
Yes. SAP S/4HANA has a public, versioned API and you create the key yourself, so your chat can write the adapter.
OpenThe check
Three questions about the API of SAP S/4HANA, answered from its own docs.
- Public API docs
- Yes. Public help portal documentation of the APIs for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. The SAP Business Accelerator Hub asked for a sign in when checked. Read the docs
- A key you create yourself
- Yes. In Cloud Public Edition your own administrator creates a communication user, a communication system and a communication arrangement; no request to SAP needed. developers.sap.com
- Versions or a changelog
- Yes. Documentation per release (for example 2608) and a published SAP API Policy. help.sap.com
- How it signs in
- Per communication arrangement: a communication user with password, an X.509 client certificate, or OAuth 2.0 where the scenario offers it.
- Webhooks
- No. help.sap.com
- Hosting
- Cloud and self-hosted
- Condition
- Documents that an outside system creates in SAP S/4HANA, such as sales orders or invoices, fall under SAP Digital Access licensing; check your contract.
In practice
What it takes in a real SAP S/4HANA administration.
- Getting access
- An administrator with the SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR role uses the Fiori apps Maintain Communication Users, Communication Systems and Communication Arrangements: create a technical user, add it to an inbound communication system, and activate the communication scenario for the API you need.
- Limits
- None published.
- Writing
- Read and write. Write APIs exist per scenario, for example creating and changing business partners; each API needs its own communication arrangement.
- Cost
- SAP licenses documents created from outside systems under Digital Access (read access is not counted); the details depend on your contract. userapps.support.sap.com
What you can build
A web intake that creates the business partner and the sales order straight in SAP S/4HANA, so nobody types it over, and a chat question that lists open items per customer.
Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work
Good to know
- Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
- This applies to Cloud Public Edition. For on-premise and Private Edition systems your SAP team must activate the OData services and make the system reachable over HTTPS from the internet; check with your SAP partner what your version offers.
- Each API belongs to a communication scenario (for example SAP_COM_0008 for business partners) that your administrator activates. Business events go out through SAP Event Mesh, not as plain webhooks.
Try it in your chat
Fill in what to read and write, and send it.
Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for SAP S/4HANA. API docs: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/e8c6621864654025997c9daea001a778/3bf0406c50a949a19851f288211cdd2e.html. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].
In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.
The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.
Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.
Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
