Connect QuickBooks Online to Hypamoon

Yes, with one catch. QuickBooks Online has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today.

Condition

In practice

What it takes in a real QuickBooks Online administration.

Getting access
The developer creates an app on the Intuit Developer Platform, and the company admin signs in once to connect the QuickBooks company.
Limits
500 requests per minute per company and app; batch calls have their own lower limit. On the free Builder tier, CorePlus calls (mostly data reads) stop at 500,000 per month. help.developer.intuit.com
Writing
Read and write. Create and update customers, invoices, payments, bills and other accounting records; creating and updating data counts as Core calls.
Cost
The Builder tier is free. Core calls (creating and updating data) are not metered on any tier; CorePlus calls above the tier's allowance are blocked on Builder and charged on paid tiers. help.developer.intuit.com

What you can build

Create the customer and the invoice in QuickBooks as soon as an order is confirmed on your site, and ask your chat which invoices are past due.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • QuickBooks Online signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for QuickBooks Online takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
  • On the free Builder tier, data read calls are capped at 500,000 per month.

Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for QuickBooks Online. API docs: https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/get-started. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
