Connect Exact Gripp to Hypamoon

Possible, with help from Exact Gripp. The API is documented, but you cannot just create a key: access goes through Exact Gripp first.

Possible

The check

Three questions about the API of Exact Gripp, answered from its own docs.

Public API docs
Yes. Public API Docs 3.0 with all entities, methods and examples. Read the docs
A key you create yourself
No. You create the API key in your own Gripp environment, but API use needs a paid API Request Pack on top of the Professional or Premium plan. exact.com
Versions or a changelog
Yes. Versioned API (v3) with a changelog; breaking changes are announced by email. api.gripp.com
How it signs in
An API token from your Gripp environment, sent as a Bearer token; each token is tied to an API role that sets the create, read, update and delete rights per entity.
Webhooks
Yes. It can tell your app when something changes. exact.com
Hosting
Cloud
Condition
Building your own API link needs the Professional or Premium plan plus an API Request Pack.

In practice

What it takes in a real Exact Gripp administration.

Getting access
An administrator sets up an API role with the allowed rights and creates an API key in the Gripp environment; the account needs Professional or Premium and an API Request Pack.
Limits
1,000 requests per hour, plus a burst limit of 20 that refills at 4 requests per second. Extra API Request Packs raise the hourly limit. api.gripp.com
Writing
Read and write. Create and update on most of the 52 entities, including companies, contacts, offers, projects, hours, tasks, invoices and purchase invoices. Custom fields can be written too.
Cost
An API Request Pack (1,000 requests per hour) costs 8.50 euro per month on the pricing page; Starter has no API access. exact.com

What you can build

A quote request form on your website that creates the company, contact and draft offer straight in Gripp, and a chat question that lists projects over budget.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
  • Gripp is now sold by Exact as Exact Gripp. The API uses a JSON-RPC style (batches of method calls) rather than plain REST.

Try it in your chat

First get access from Exact Gripp. Then fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Exact Gripp. API docs: https://api.gripp.com/public/api3.php. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Exact Gripp is a name of its owner, used here only to describe the software. This page is not an official integration and Hypamoon has no partnership with Exact Gripp. Found something that changed? Tell us at support.

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Say this in your chat

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
