Connect Wave to Hypamoon
Possible, with help from Wave. The API is documented, but you cannot just create a key: access goes through Wave first.
PossibleThe check
Three questions about the API of Wave, answered from its own docs.
- Public API docs
- Yes. Read the docs
- A key you create yourself
- Yes. Create an application under Manage Applications in your own Wave account and click Create token for a full access token. Free for your own account. developer.waveapps.com
- Versions or a changelog
- No. The GraphQL API is versionless and Wave publishes no changelog; deprecated fields may be removed over time. developer.waveapps.com
- How it signs in
- Full access token from Manage Applications sent as a Bearer token, valid for several years; OAuth 2.0 for apps used by other Wave users.
- Webhooks
- Yes. It can tell your app when something changes. developer.waveapps.com
- Hosting
- Cloud
- Condition
- Webhooks and OAuth access need a business on Wave Pro or Wave Advisor.
In practice
What it takes in a real Wave administration.
- Getting access
- In your Wave account open Manage Applications, create an application and click Create token; send the token as a Bearer header to the GraphQL endpoint.
- Limits
- None published.
- Writing
- Read and write. GraphQL mutations create and change customers, products, invoices, estimates, sales taxes and money transactions.
- Cost
- Using the API with your own account and a full access token is free. developer.waveapps.com
What you can build
Create customers and invoices from a form or chat, send invoices, and record money transactions without opening Wave.
Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work
Good to know
- Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
- The full access token reaches every business in your Wave account. Webhooks cover invoice, estimate and checkout events.
Try it in your chat
First get access from Wave. Then fill in what to read and write, and send it.
Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Wave. API docs: https://developer.waveapps.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019968212-API-Reference. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].
In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.
The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.
Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.
Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
Ready to connect Wave?
Connect your chat once, then ask it to build the adapter.
