Connect Xero to Hypamoon

Yes, with one catch. Xero has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today.

In practice

What it takes in a real Xero administration.

Getting access
The developer registers an app in the Xero developer portal, and the organisation's adviser or admin signs in once to connect the organisation.
Limits
Per organisation: 60 calls per minute, 5 at the same time, and 5,000 calls per day (1,000 on the free Starter plan). Across all organisations an app may make 10,000 calls per minute. developer.xero.com
Writing
Read and write. Create and update contacts, invoices, credit notes, payments and more; the Journals endpoint is a premium feature that needs approval.
Cost
Developer plans: Starter free (5 connections), Core 35 AUD, Plus 245 AUD and Advanced 1,445 AUD a month, Enterprise on application; data egress above the allowance costs 2.40 AUD per GB. developer.xero.com

What you can build

Create the contact and a draft invoice in Xero when a job is closed in your own tool, and ask your chat which invoices are overdue.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • Xero signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for Xero takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
  • Starter apps can make 1,000 calls per day per organisation.

Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Xero. API docs: https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Xero is a name of its owner, used here only to describe the software. This page is not an official integration and Hypamoon has no partnership with Xero. Found something that changed? Tell us at support.

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.

Ready to connect Xero?

Connect your chat once, then ask it to build the adapter.
