Connect LinkedIn to Hypamoon

Possible, with help from LinkedIn. The API is documented, but you cannot just create a key: access goes through LinkedIn first.

Possible

The check

Three questions about the API of LinkedIn, answered from its own docs.

Public API docs
Yes. Read the docs
A key you create yourself
No. Only sign in and posting on your own member profile are open to every developer. Posting as a company page, reading page analytics or using ads data needs an approved application for the Community Management API or the Advertising API, also for your own page. learn.microsoft.com
Versions or a changelog
Yes. Monthly versions set with a Linkedin-Version header, each supported for at least a year, with a changelog. learn.microsoft.com
How it signs in
OAuth 2.0 with member consent; access tokens expire and must be renewed.
Webhooks
Yes. It can tell your app when something changes. learn.microsoft.com
Hosting
Cloud
Condition
Company page and ads access need an approved application in the LinkedIn Developer Portal. The Community Management API starts on a Development tier with low daily call limits and no push notifications; the Standard tier needs a second review. The Advertising API Development tier can edit at most five ad accounts.

What you can build

Post updates on your company page and pull follower and post statistics into your own report, once LinkedIn approves your app.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • LinkedIn signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for LinkedIn takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
  • The person who logs in needs a role on the company page or ad account. LinkedIn decides on applications at its own discretion.

Try it in your chat

First get access from LinkedIn. Then fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for LinkedIn. API docs: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/linkedin/marketing/increasing-access. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

LinkedIn is a name of its owner, used here only to describe the software. This page is not an official integration and Hypamoon has no partnership with LinkedIn. Found something that changed? Tell us at support.

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Say this in your chat

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.

Ready to connect LinkedIn?

Connect your chat once, then ask it to build the adapter.
