Connect Google Workspace to Hypamoon

Yes, with one catch. Google Workspace has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today.

The check

Three questions about the API of Google Workspace, answered from its own docs.

Public API docs
Yes. Gmail, Calendar and Drive each have their own public API docs. Read the docs
A key you create yourself
Yes. Create an OAuth client or a service account in your own Google Cloud project. Sensitive and restricted scopes need Google's app verification before outside users can use the app. developers.google.com
Versions or a changelog
Yes. Versioned APIs (Gmail v1, Calendar v3, Drive v3) with release notes. developers.google.com
How it signs in
OAuth 2.0 with a client you create in your own Google Cloud project. Workspace admins can instead use a service account with domain-wide delegation, which a Super Admin authorizes in the Admin console.
Webhooks
Yes. It can tell your app when something changes. developers.google.com

What you can build

Search mail and calendar events, look up files in Drive, and draft emails or add calendar events from your chat.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • Google Workspace signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for Google Workspace takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
  • Gmail scopes that read mail are restricted: an app used outside your own organization needs Google's verification and, if it stores mail data on servers, a security assessment. Gmail push uses Pub/Sub and Calendar push channels expire, so both need renewing.

Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Google Workspace. API docs: https://developers.google.com/workspace/gmail/api/guides. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
