Connect Toast to Hypamoon

Yes, with one catch. Toast has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today.

Three questions about the API of Toast, answered from its own docs.

Public API docs

A key you create yourself
Yes. A restaurant employee with the Manage Integrations permission creates standard API access credentials in Toast Web. This needs Restaurant Management Suite Essentials or higher, and gives read access only. doc.toasttab.com
Versions or a changelog
Yes. Toast publishes API release notes and a list of upcoming API changes. doc.toasttab.com
How it signs in
Client ID and secret from Toast Web, exchanged at the login endpoint for a Bearer token that expires; each call names the restaurant location GUID.

Condition
Needs Toast Restaurant Management Suite Essentials or higher. Standard API access is read only; write access or a custom integration goes through your Toast account representative or support.

What you can build

Pull orders, menus, sales and labor data per location into your chat or your own reports, without exporting by hand.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. How adapters work

Good to know

  • Toast signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for Toast takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
  • Standard API access allows GET requests only and has no sandbox. Partner integrations that write to Toast go through the Toast integrations team.

Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Toast. API docs: https://doc.toasttab.com/doc/devguide/devApiAccessUserGuide.html. Read: [what]. Write: [what, or nothing].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. The full recipe

Toast is a name of its owner, used here only to describe the software. This page is not an official integration and Hypamoon has no partnership with Toast. Found something that changed? Tell us at support.

Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Check if [software] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.

Ready to connect Toast?

Connect your chat once, then ask it to build the adapter.
