# Connect Zoho Desk to Hypamoon

Yes, with one catch. Zoho Desk has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today.

## The check

Three questions about the API of Zoho Desk, answered from its own docs.

**Public API docs**\
**Yes.** [Read the docs](https://desk.zoho.com/DeskAPIDocument)

**A key you create yourself**\
**Yes.** Register your own client in the Zoho API console, for example a self client, and get an access and refresh token. [desk.zoho.com](https://desk.zoho.com/DeskAPIDocument)

**Versions or a changelog**\
**Yes.** Endpoints are versioned under /api/v1/. [desk.zoho.com](https://desk.zoho.com/DeskAPIDocument)

**How it signs in**\
Zoho OAuth 2.0; send the access token as Zoho-oauthtoken plus your orgId header, and renew it with a refresh token.

**Webhooks**\
**Yes.** It can tell your app when something changes. [desk.zoho.com](https://desk.zoho.com/DeskAPIDocument)

**Hosting**\
Cloud

**Condition**\
Daily API credits depend on your edition and number of users, from 5,000 on the free plan to 100,000 plus 1,000 per user on Enterprise.

## What you can build

Create tickets from a call or chat, look up a contact's open tickets, and get a webhook when a ticket changes.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. [How adapters work](https://hypamoon.com/docs/adapters)

### Good to know

- Zoho Desk signs in with OAuth or signed requests only, with tokens that expire. The Hypamoon vault holds a fixed key today, so an adapter for Zoho Desk takes more work: ask your chat to check this first.
- Use the API host of the Zoho data center your account is in.

## Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

> Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Zoho Desk. API docs: https://desk.zoho.com/DeskAPIDocument. Read: \[what\]. Write: \[what, or nothing\].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. [The full recipe](https://hypamoon.com/r/build-an-adapter)

## Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Say this in your chat

> Check if \[software\] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
