Xero has an open API that you can use yourself, but it signs in with OAuth only, and that takes more work in a Hypamoon adapter today. Custom Connections use client credentials but are paid and only for organisations in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US. **Webhooks**\ **Yes.** It can tell your app when something changes. [developer.xero.com](https://developer.xero.com/documentation/guides/webhooks/overview/) **Hosting**\ Cloud **Condition**\ The free Starter developer plan allows up to 5 connections; more connections need a paid developer plan. ## In practice What it takes in a real Xero administration. **Getting access**\ The developer registers an app in the Xero developer portal, and the organisation's adviser or admin signs in once to connect the organisation. **Limits**\ Per organisation: 60 calls per minute, 5 at the same time, and 5,000 calls per day (1,000 on the free Starter plan). Across all organisations an app may make 10,000 calls per minute. [developer.xero.com](https://developer.xero.com/documentation/guides/oauth2/limits/) **Writing**\ **Read and write.** Create and update contacts, invoices, credit notes, payments and more; the Journals endpoint is a premium feature that needs approval. **Cost**\ Developer plans: Starter free (5 connections), Core 35 AUD, Plus 245 AUD and Advanced 1,445 AUD a month, Enterprise on application; data egress above the allowance costs 2.40 AUD per GB.
