# Connect SimplyBook.me to Hypamoon

Yes. SimplyBook.me has a public, versioned API and you create the key yourself, so your chat can write the adapter.

## The check

Three questions about the API of SimplyBook.me, answered from its own docs.

**Public API docs**\
**Yes.** [Read the docs](https://simplybook.me/en/api/developer-api/tab/rest_api)

**A key you create yourself**\
**Yes.** An administrator turns on the API custom feature and creates an API user key for a staff user in the admin panel. [simplybook.me](https://simplybook.me/agents/setup.md)

**Versions or a changelog**\
**Yes.** The current REST API runs on a separate v2 host next to the older JSON-RPC API. [simplybook.me](https://simplybook.me/en/api/developer-api/tab/rest_api)

**How it signs in**\
An API user key is exchanged for an access token and refresh token; each refresh token works once.

**Webhooks**\
**Yes.** It can tell your app when something changes. [simplybook.me](https://simplybook.me/agents/setup.md)

**Hosting**\
Cloud

**Condition**\
The API custom feature must be switched on in your account.

## What you can build

Check free slots and book, move or cancel appointments from a chat or phone line, and get a webhook when a booking changes.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. [How adapters work](https://hypamoon.com/docs/adapters)

### Good to know

- Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
- The API host depends on the region of your account, for example simplybook.it for Europe. Creating the first API user key turns on email IP checks for password logins.

## Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

> Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for SimplyBook.me. API docs: https://simplybook.me/en/api/developer-api/tab/rest\_api. Read: \[what\]. Write: \[what, or nothing\].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. [The full recipe](https://hypamoon.com/r/build-an-adapter)

## Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Say this in your chat

> Check if \[software\] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
