# Connect PandaDoc to Hypamoon

Possible, with help from PandaDoc. The API is documented, but you cannot just create a key: access goes through PandaDoc first.

Possible

## The check

Three questions about the API of PandaDoc, answered from its own docs.

**Public API docs**\
**Yes.** [Read the docs](https://developers.pandadoc.com/reference/about)

**A key you create yourself**\
**No.** A sandbox key can be made on any plan in the Developer Dashboard, but a production API key needs approval through PandaDoc sales. [developers.pandadoc.com](https://developers.pandadoc.com/reference/api-key-authentication-process)

**Versions or a changelog**\
**Yes.** Versioned paths such as /public/v1/ and a public API changelog. [developers.pandadoc.com](https://developers.pandadoc.com/changelog)

**How it signs in**\
API key in the Authorization header as 'API-Key <key>', tied to the user who made it; OAuth 2.0 for apps used by other PandaDoc accounts.

**Webhooks**\
**Yes.** It can tell your app when something changes. [developers.pandadoc.com](https://developers.pandadoc.com/docs/webhook-setup)

**Hosting**\
Cloud

**Condition**\
Production API keys must be approved by PandaDoc sales; the sandbox key has fixed rate limits.

## What you can build

Create a quote or contract from a template with the customer details from your chat, send it, and get a message when it is signed.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. [How adapters work](https://hypamoon.com/docs/adapters)

### Good to know

- Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
- An API key stops working when the user who created it is removed from the workspace, so create it with a long term admin account.

## Try it in your chat

First get access from PandaDoc. Then fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

> Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for PandaDoc. API docs: https://developers.pandadoc.com/reference/about. Read: \[what\]. Write: \[what, or nothing\].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. [The full recipe](https://hypamoon.com/r/build-an-adapter)

## Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Say this in your chat

> Check if \[software\] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
