# Connect Factorial to Hypamoon

Yes. Factorial has a public, versioned API and you create the key yourself, so your chat can write the adapter.

## The check

Three questions about the API of Factorial, answered from its own docs.

**Public API docs**\
**Yes.** [Read the docs](https://apidoc.factorialhr.com/docs/getting-started)

**A key you create yourself**\
**Yes.** An admin generates an API key in the company settings, without registration or approval. [apidoc.factorialhr.com](https://apidoc.factorialhr.com/docs/api-keys)

**Versions or a changelog**\
**Yes.** Dated versions in the path, each supported for one year. [apidoc.factorialhr.com](https://apidoc.factorialhr.com/docs/getting-started)

**How it signs in**\
API key in the x-api-key header that does not expire; OAuth 2.0 for marketplace and partner apps.

**Webhooks**\
**Yes.** It can tell your app when something changes. [apidoc.factorialhr.com](https://apidoc.factorialhr.com/docs/webhooks-what)

**Hosting**\
Cloud

## What you can build

Look up employees, absences and shifts from your chat, and create time off requests or new employees for approval.

Your chat writes it as a Hypamoon adapter from the docs above. Reading starts after you click Allow in the portal, and every write waits for your approval, one call at a time. [How adapters work](https://hypamoon.com/docs/adapters)

### Good to know

- Your adapter uses a fixed key: you paste it once in the Hypamoon portal, never in the chat, and it only goes to the API host you allow.
- An API key sees all company data; use OAuth scopes if you need narrower access. An expired API version does not fail loudly, so pin and update the version on purpose.

## Try it in your chat

Fill in what to read and write, and send it.

Say this in your chat

> Build the Hypamoon recipe build-an-adapter for Factorial. API docs: https://apidoc.factorialhr.com/docs/getting-started. Read: \[what\]. Write: \[what, or nothing\].

In Claude, or another chat with the full Hypamoon connection; adapters are not in ChatGPT yet. You paste the key in the portal, never in the chat. [The full recipe](https://hypamoon.com/r/build-an-adapter)

## Tool not listed? Ask the chat to check its API.

The same three checks work for any software. Your chat reads the vendor's own docs and tells you what it found.

Say this in your chat

> Check if \[software\] has an open API that a Hypamoon adapter can use: public API docs, a key or token I can create myself without asking the vendor, and versions or a changelog. Link the pages you used.

Fill in the name of your software. Checking needs no connection to Hypamoon.
